2020 Accomplishments

Below is a partial list of our ACCOMPLISHMENTS that we have done this year, despite the setbacks and closures due to Covid-19, and thanks to your prayers and support

:

  1. We continued purchasing and distributing more Truth for Youth Bibles to nearby churches.

  2. We had a petition to stop Drag Queen Story-time at the Louisville KY Free Public Library.  When the story hour was held against the will of the people, we held a quiet protest and prayed outside of the library.

  3. Because the mayor would not allow our National Day of Prayer Rally at the courthouse, we had the pastors pray on The Rest of the News TV/Radio show, and it was aired on Facebook live.

  4. We expanded our prayer efforts starting in July by hosting weekly prayer meetings in Louisville, KY.  We meet every Saturday 10 am – 11 am at various venues throughout the Louisville with prayer leaders from all over Jefferson County.

  5. We had petition drive to REMOVE Mayor Fischer from office for not keeping us safe! Metro Council made a bi-partisan resolution to investigate the actions of Fischer, and the full Republican caucus asked him to resign. AFA held 2 rallies and press conferences outside Metro Hall. Dr. Simon and volunteer Ruth Ann Shumate-Reed presented our petitions and addressed the council asking for the removal of the mayor. The Louisville Metro Council later approved a resolution that declared "no confidence" in Mayor Greg Fischer over his handling of the death of Breonna Taylor and the subsequent unrest. Unfortunately, the resolution had no teeth in it, and he is still in office.

  6. Although WGTK studios were closed during their move, we continue to record “The Rest of the News” every Friday. John Brewer has worked hard to set up an in-house studio where we record the shows. The show airs on facebook live on Fridays generally at 2:30 pm (go to Facebook.com/frank.g.simon). The show is on 970 AM radio Saturdays 8:30 am and Sundays 7:30 pm. We air in Western KY (noon Saturdays Central Time) on 91.1 FM (Hiseville, Glasgow), 91.5 FM (McDaniels, Leitchfield, Central City) and 98.3 FM (Owensboro, KY and Rockport, IN). We have expanded our radio show into Eastern Kentucky on 104.9 WSKV-FM Sundays 2:30-3:00 pm. We film the radio show and produce a TV program .

  7. We informed people on the issues of our day by filming 52 “The Rest of the News” TV programs. The show airs on WBNA channel 21.4 on BIG4 TV (Cable 185) Thursdays 8 am and Saturdays 4:00 pm. Our shows can also be seen online on at: youtube.com/c/TROTN.

  8. We sponsored radio programs five days a week for Values Coalition, USA; tune into WLLV (1240 AM on your radio dial) from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday

  9. We continued working with our Conservative Group Meeting (CGM) leaders. We have over 700 conservative group leaders that show or share our thought-provoking documentary DVDs with others. We added 5 new videos and now have 98 DVDs on our list.

  10. We hosted a Truth Heals Rally in Frankfort, KY on May 30th with keynote speaker, Pastor Greg Locke. We helped plan Stop the Steal / Open Kentucky Rallies in Frankfort in Nov and Dec.

  11. We sent 4 newsletters to update supporters and concerned citizens on moral and family issues and upcoming events. This is in addition to Kentuckians for Freedom newsletters.

  12. We informed people and gave them an easy way to make their voices heard by sending over 86 email alerts, using Voter Voice, a system with pre-written letters to our elected officials. We now have about 8,250 people in our email alerts.

  13. We made phone call alerts to notify you of important legislation, moral issues, and upcoming events.

  14. We hosted a bus trip to "The Return" on 9/26 in Washington DC and toured the Bible Museum and monuments. We are planning a bus to Washington, D.C. for the .

  15. We distributed a 2021 Calendar with inserted pages of photographs of staff, volunteers, and events

  16. Continued TEA Party of Kentucky, Inc. and our partnership with the national Tea Party Patriots group. We worked with Tea Party of Louisville.
