An Uphill Battle

In our efforts to fight for Faith, Family and Freedom, we petition our government to speak on our behalf and to stand for the Constitution. On many of the issues that we take a stand on, like pro-life, pro-family, lower taxation, quality education for our children, etc. We find ourselves addressing a very different threat to our freedoms that we have not really formally addressed before. That is the harvesting and use of our personal information.

We all have realized that if we are on social media and smart phones, that this technology is running algorithms that analyze our data and market advertisements to us, based on this information. The extent to which this data mining will go is endless and what is on the horizon is not looking good for our privacy or sovereignty.

While the harvesting and storage of our personal data is concerning, the structures that must be built to house this data, is another behemoth entirely and we are learning that the current government silos are not well prepared to deal with these developments under current laws and we are finding that unelected bureaucrats are making decisions on behalf of "we the people" and they are not fully informed on the subject. This is showing many loopholes and finding the way to take a step back and look at the inadequate means to deal with this, should give us pause.

One hearing by the Development Review Committee has already voted in favor of the Jefferson County hyperscale data center project. Kentuckians for Freedom has covered that, and seemingly the only other legal hurdle it faces to get approval is the Public Service Commission for energy utility sources. But those two agencies do not address all the concerns that the community has.

If you are not in Jefferson County that does not mean that this will not affect you. Hyperscale data center developments are being proposed elsewhere and will only increase in necessity as A.I. data is produced daily. If you have facebook you can see how another Kentucky County has discussed the challenges facing communities regarding this type of land development.

https://www.wave3.com/2025/07/14/lge-says-2-new-power-plants-needed-predicted-significant-jump-energy-demand/ We have already been issued a significant utility rate hike recently, and we do not want to be burdened to pay more to support a hyperscale development that should be asked to pay its own way.

We encourage you to get involved and use your voice to speak up and get informed. The Louisville Metro Watchdog Alliance has organized a community meeting on Monday, July 28th @ 6pm at the Southwest Regional Library, 9725 Dixie Hwy., Louisville to discuss questions and concerns. Tina Marie of the Louisville Metro Watchdog Alliance says “Two requests have been sent to the developer requesting that they host public informational meetings, but since they won't - we will.” to prepare for the Hearing on August 4th@9am in Frankfort at 211 Sower Boulevard. The lack of transparency by the developer is not helping to build trust in the community for the project. What have they got to hide?

We encourage you to attend.
